Komala’s official policy concerning the
fight against the drug problems in
Kurdistan
At Komala’s 9th congress, which was
held from June till August 2001, the following statement was passed:
Some years ago the use of narcotic drugs became
the largest and most serious problem among the youth in
Kurdistan. Because of economical and social problems,
the regime in
Iran decided to set free the access of drugs for the youth in
Kurdistan. This has been going on through the last 20
years, and the intention was to dim the youth so that they did not revolt
against the Islamic regime.
Those responsible for the release of drugs in
Kurdistan was the secret police. They released those who smuggled drugs so
that the addiction among the youth would increase. The Islamic regime and the secret police are
cooperating with the drugdealers in selling drugs in
Kurdistan. This means that the Islamic regime for
several years deliberately has participated in dealing narcotic drugs to young
people in
Kurdistan. The Iranian regime is not only
an enemy of the political parties in
Kurdistan, but an enemy of Kurds in general.
When they discover a consentrated area of Kurds, that area is
caracterized as hostile. The Islamic
regime has made a strategy which deliberately is destroying the future for
young people in
Kurdistan. The official policy is one of
being against the dealing of narcotic drugs, but secretly they are selling
drugs to the youth of
Kurdistan.
The youth in
Kurdistan are poor and unemployed,
and they have no hope for the future.
They have been deprived of all good prospects of education or to have a
career of sports. The youth are not
satisfied with the offers of education that they get from universities and
highschools. Several of the core
subjects which exist there, e.g. the reading of the Koran, are obligatory, they
have to read it. They have no
alternative subjects to choose from. The
youth do not want to read the Koran, but have no choice. The regime decide all the activities for the
youth in their private lives too. They
live so poorly economically that they cannot marry, and the regime has decided
that they cannot be together without being married. Equally, the youth cannot decide for
themselves whom they are going to marry.
When a couple are marrying, the boy has to pay a large sum of money to
the girl, and this is why so many boys are not able to get married. Because of the pressure they are living
under, and the bad prospects of their future, they get depressed and turn to
intoxications like narcotic drugs.
The Islamic regime does not help the youth
economically, and they call our youth lazy drug addicts. They are leading the youth against the use of
drugs because they want them to forget their urge to revolt. Some of the Kurdish youth are both political
active and conscious of their situation, and the regime want to put an end to
that.
We need now to gather all the good people in
Kurdistan, people who are
conscientious and are able to stand gathered against this problem. The people as a whole has to work hard in all
layers of society to fight the problem of the use of drugs. They have to seek help among teachers,
doctors, students, youth and children.
All must fight for the overthrowment of the Islamic regime.
More important than everything else is that the
youth and children in all parts and layers of society will wake up and start
fighting against the trap that the use of narcotic drugs is. The youth has to take the responsibility to
help each other to begin doing sports, theater, the development of artcrafts,
and they have to advice each other to get an education so that they are able to
stay away from drugs. The youth has to
gather against narcotic drugs. If a friend
is not able to fight the temptation, you must help and support him so that he
will choose the right way for their future.
The youth must be strong and fight the
government, and they must tell the truth about the regime. If all youth are gathered against the regime
they will be strong enough to fight it.
All good people of
Iran
must establish an organization which will work against narcotic drugs, so that
the problem is not increasing. Parents
and youth that are not using drugs must help the families who has this problem
to choose activities which are better for their children. The good, polite and wise people must talk to
the families about the problems of society, and about relief schemes against
the problems of drugs in
Kurdistan. Doctors, psychologists and the
people working at hospitals must help the affected families so that the abuse
can come to an end, and those families can have a better life. The doctors, psychologists and those who work
at hospitals must take their responsibility to solve these problems.
The rich families who have good hearts must
help families with a bad economy so that they can live a full life.
We must not forget that if we are working with
these things in mind, we will help the children, the economy will be better,
and culture will blossom in
Kurdistan. We must try to work for more
jobs, insurance against accidents at work, sport areas, freedom of the society
and the abilitiy to choose for the people of
Kurdistan. The regime is responsible for the happiness
of the people, and that they are able to live a good life whithout being
subject to censorship.
Komala is encouraging all oppositionals in
political parties and all good people.
Especially we will encourage those who live abroad and those whose
hearts are beating for freedom to tell the whole world of the problems of
narcotic drugs in
Kurdistan. They have to report the Iranian
regime to the United Nations.
As previously mentioned, the people of Komala
stand strongly against narcotic drugs, and the society in
Kurdistan stand together with Komala
to fight the big problem that drug addiction has become. The fight has to be fought hard all the way
to the reach of our goal, a Kurdistan free from narcotics and free from the
Islamic regime.
All members and people who sympathize with
Komala are hereby encouraged to work actively against the problems of drug
problems.
Long live Komala, death to the Islamic regime!
