LONG LIVE THE
INTERNATIONAL
DAY
OF THE WORKER!
Dear comrades!
This year we prepare to celebrate the 1st
of May – the day of the worker – in a situation were most Iranian workers still
use most of their powers and strength to get paid for their efforts at the
right time. Political sensorship and
religious dictatorship have made a situation where capitalists and employers of
Iran are able to postpone the payments of wages for several months. Some periods the payments have been postponed
for as long as 6 months. The
governmental system of Iran is keeping up this situation to be able to oppress the workers. The
wages are not high enough to ensure the supportment of the workers’ families,
and the postponements create unjust situations like hunger, which in it’s turn
increases the share of drug addiction, prostitution and criminality. These are problems which destroy the values
of society and ruin the fundamental human worth of the people.
In addition to this, small businesses outside
central areas are granted exemption from the laws of protection of the working
conditions. This creates situations
where the workers are shut out from protection against capitalistic oppression,
and without any laws to secure their working conditions. They are forced to live in unworthy
situations, under the threat of getting fired, and they have to accept low
wages.
Much can be said and written about this hell
which the workers of Iran are living in, and we must mind ourselves that we do not tolerate this
situation and stop fighting against it.
We have to stop accepting what goes on in the Iranian society.
Capitalists and employers must understand that
it is a crime against the workers to
postpone the payment of their wages. We
demand that payment of wages at the right time is established by Iranian law,
and that this law applies to all the workers of Iran. We also demand that the workers who do not
get paid at the right time are being given full compensation for this. We have to fight the idea that small
businesses should be granted exemption from the laws of protection of the
working conditions. We also have to
support the movement that the oil workers started some years ago, when they
demanded independant organizations for the workers, and the right to organize themselves.
These subjects are the main goals of our fight
beside the struggle for political freedom of speech. In their fight for securing the rights for
the working class, the workers have to rely on their own strength to change the
conditions of their society. The 1st
of May we can show our strength and our solidarity with workers all over the
world.
Dear Kurdish comrades! Komala is the party for workers of Iranian
Kurdistan, and we have tried to make the workers of small and large businesses
organize themselves. We try to create
solidarity and union among workers all over Iran. When the Islamic dictatorship in Iran is
overthrowed, this oppression will come to an end. Komala will be on your side in this fight for
improving the working conditions and every other improvement of the situation
of the workers of Iran.
Down with the Islamic dictatorial regime!
Long live Socialism!
Long live the Iranian worker’s strength and
solidarity!
