Resolution
Ladies and Gentlemen,
During the 27 years of the regency of the government of Iran, more than 10 000 people were executed, more than 100 000 were imprisoned or forced to leave the country. During this period, women were constantly oppressed and even cut off their basic human rights. Ethnical minorities, and especially Kurdish people, were oppressed and prevented from participating in political movements. Many of them were killed in a brutish manner. Additionally, these ethnical groups have experienced economic sanctions. The same situation holds for the Iranian workers: They are inhibited to be politically active or to participate in political groups, they are constantly oppressed and many of them were imprisoned. Many syndicalists are persecuted or imprisoned. This oppression concerns also students, writers and other intellectuals. They haven’t any freedom of speech and expression. Even advocates of political prisoners have been imprisoned; an example is Nasser Zerafshan, who is the advocate of the family members of persons killed in mass executions. Now at this time, more than 70 percent of the Iranian people live in poverty, but at the same time the Iranian government is spending many hundreds of million of US Dollar s for it s nuclear program. We, the signatories of this resolution, call for the following steps to be made:
1. Political and diplomatic pressure from the side of the United Nations to force the Iranian government to maintain the human rights. 2. The interdiction of people from the Iranian government to travel to foreign countries. 3. An international court to pursue the atrocities of the Iranian government. 4. The abolishment of the oppression of Iranian women and the maintenance of women's rights. 5. The abolishment of the oppression of ethnical minorities, and the acceptance of their autonomy. 6. The release of all political prisoners. 7. The right to form political and social groups, especially to form syndicates and the right of free speech. 8. The give-up of the nuclear program. 9. We demand support from the international society of the oppositional forces in Iran to overthrow the current regime and replace it by a federalist, democratic and secular alternative.
