Dear Bill,
I was recently contacted by one of my constituents, Mr. Hamid Bahrami, a representative of Komala in North America, regarding the conviction of Ismail Mohammadi, a Kurdish Iranian who has been sentenced to death due to his political beliefs and support for Komala. Mr. Mohammadi, who is married and has five children, is in jeopardy of becoming yet another name on the list of those innocently executed due to their beliefs in Iran. A copy of Mr. Bahrami’s correspondence is enclosed for your attention.
I strongly support the concerns raised by Mr. Bahrami and ask that you provide a response on this important matter. Canada, as a major supporter of human rights, must urge the Iranian government to withdraw Mr. Mohammadi’s death sentence and unconditionally release him and all prisoners of conscience immediately.
I look forward to your earliest possible reply on this important matter.
Sincerely yours,
Svend J Robinson, MP
